UL 4500:2017-01 Environmental Claim Validation Procedure (ECVP) for Cleaning Solution Savings for Floor Scrubber Machines. 2.1 This procedure applies to battery powered walk-behind and ride-on floor scrubber machines intended for commercial indoor use. 3 Units of Measurement 3.1 For the purposes of this procedure, values shall be reported in accordance with the requirements of the individual criterion. If the manufacturer’s choice of units deviates, that change shall be documented and justified as to the reason and relevance for that change. 4 Undated References 4.1 Any undated reference to a code or standard appearing in the requirements of this procedure shall be interpreted as referring to the latest edition of that code or standard. 5 Glossary 5.1 For the purpose of this procedure, the following definitions apply. 5.2 GROSS MACHINE WEIGHT — The weight of the machine with a full tank of cleaning solution, as ready for use. 5.3 MAXIMUM WORKING MODE SPEED — The working speed, as defined by the manufacturer, at which the machine is traveling in a straight, forward direction, on a straight, flat, smooth concrete surface. This parameter is intended to indicate the recommended maximum working speed of the machine, with all floor cleaning functions of the machine operating simultaneously. ©:IEC. All rights reserved. 5.4 RIDE-ON MACHINE — Floor scrubber machine with a traction drive and with an operator seat or a platform on which the operator is sitting/standing during operation. 5.5 WALK-BEHIND MACHINE — Floor scrubber machine with or without a battery powered motor designed to be controlled by the operator walking behind the machine. 5.6 WORKING SCRUBBING PATH WIDTH — The path the machine cleans, based solely on the width of the brushes or pads. This is the width that is exposed to the full cleaning process, to indicate the effective cleaning width of the machine, not the outside physical width of the machine. ©;IEC.
