Organizational policy and proce- dures, common causes offire and their prevention, the impor- tance offire safety, and referral procedures. 6.2.2* Use SCBA and PASS device during exterior fire- fighting operations, given SCBA, PASS, thermal protective clothing, and other personal protective equipment, so that the SCBAand PASS device are correctlydonned and activated, the equipment is correctly worn, controlled breathing tech- niques are used, emergency procedures are enacted if the SCBA fails, all low-air warnings are recognized, respiratory protection is not intentionally compromised, and hazardous areas are exited prior to air depletion.
